The winter weather has creates a few extra challenges on the farm . When it is cold and frosty we have a shorter window to harvest produce, waiting until crops have defrosted first so we need to try and work ahead. The sunny days have been lovely though, once it has warmed up. And the wet days mean working in full waterproofs (and still getting wet somewhere!). And, as the fields are saturated, we can't drive the vans on the tracks, just the truck, so there's a lot more carrying and moving crates of harvested crops around. Oh, and the amount of mud sticking to your wellies makes walking around very tricky. But we're thankful to have workers that keep going out in all weathers with us to harvest, deliver and sell the vegetables.
